Creating a logo design with a retro feel has, in the last few years, become a bit more of a trend on the web. After glossy, ultra-slick web 2.0 designs, there’s something aesthetically pleasing about a logo that goes back to basics – and it often makes for a logo that’s remarkable and more memorable than the shiny, clean logos that we’ve become used to.
A vintage & retro style logo tends to evoke the feel of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s – and there’s almost a nostalgic element to it. The palette is either quite a stark, elegant and classy black and white, or it uses muted shades of blue and green, or – in some rarer cases – a bright, blinding red. Vintage style logos might also include the use of ribbons for some extra visual flair. It’s also fairly typical for the logo to be presented as a circle – which lends itself quite nicely as a brand mark on the web, or next to the name of the product or site.
We’ve brought together a showcase of beautifully designed, vintage style logos to hopefully inspire you for your next logo design project.
